Telehealth & Prescriptions
How does the Adegen telehealth process work?
Five steps: take the HairIQ™ assessment, add the kit and check out, complete a medical questionnaire, a licensed physician reviews your intake (usually within 24 hours), and your kit ships once approved. Most reach shipped within 1–2 business days.
What happens at my telehealth consultation?
An asynchronous physician review, not a live video call. After your questionnaire, a licensed physician reviews your intake and either approves, adjusts, requests more information, or declines. Most reviews finish within 24 hours.
How long does prescription approval take?
Most prescriptions are approved within 24 hours of completing the medical questionnaire. If the physician needs more information, the review pauses until you respond, so fill out the questionnaire thoroughly and watch your email for follow-ups.
I was denied a prescription: what now?
A prescription denial is never a verdict on you. It's the physician's judgment that the protocol isn't right for your situation. In almost every case there's an alternative, and your denial message explains what's recommended instead.
Can my prescription be changed after the consultation?
Yes. Your prescription isn't locked once approved. Your Adegen telehealth provider can adjust it based on how you're responding, any side effects, changes in your history, or your goals. Message them through your account portal to start.
Will Adegen interact with my other medications or supplements?
Your Adegen telehealth physician reviews your full medication and supplement list during intake, which is the right place to raise interaction concerns. Support can't give medical advice, but we can connect you to your provider.
Why do you need my ID and photos?
Because your order is now a prescription reviewed by a licensed physician. The photo ID is identity verification required by law, and the photos are your medical review. Everything goes to your physician through the secure patient platform.
Why am I being asked to record a video?
Because your state's telehealth law requires an audio and video interaction between patient and physician. A short recorded intro video satisfies the requirement and lets your doctor complete your approval without a live appointment.
Can I transfer a prescription I already have from another doctor?
Adegen doesn't fill outside prescriptions, and you don't need to transfer anything. Our topicals are proprietary compounded formulas issued through an Adegen physician's review. Just list your current medications during intake.
How do I message my Adegen provider after I start treatment?
Sign in at your patient portal and send a message. Your Adegen physician handles anything clinical: side effects, protocol questions, and strength or formula changes. For orders, shipping, billing, or account questions, message support instead.
When does Adegen charge my card during the telehealth process?
You aren't charged at checkout. We secure the payment as a pending hold, and the actual charge only happens after your Adegen physician approves your treatment. If a prescription isn't appropriate, the hold is released back to your card, no charge.
How long is my prescription valid and how do renewals work?
Adegen prescriptions are typically valid for up to 12 months, depending on the medication and your state. As long as your subscription is active and treatment remains appropriate, refills are issued and shipped automatically. No date to track.
