Can I transfer a prescription I already have from another doctor?Updated 3 hours ago
Quick answer
Adegen doesn't fill outside prescriptions, and you don't need to transfer anything to get started. Our topicals are proprietary compounded formulas available only through an Adegen physician's review, so every customer receives their own prescription as part of the telehealth process. If you're already being treated by another doctor, just list your current medications during intake. Your Adegen physician will factor them into your protocol.
Why We Can't Fill an Outside Prescription
Adegen topicals aren't off-the-shelf medications. Each formula combines multiple active ingredients using ARB™, DermalDrive™, and CryoSafe™ technology, and it's compounded specifically for you by a licensed US-based pharmacy after your Adegen physician approves your protocol. Because the formulas are proprietary and prepared per patient, there's no equivalent prescription another doctor could write or transfer in.
The same applies in the other direction: an Adegen prescription can't be transferred out to a retail pharmacy.
What Happens Instead
Getting started doesn't require any paperwork from your current doctor:
- Take the HairIQ™ assessment so we can recommend a protocol.
- Complete the telehealth intake, including your medical history and every medication and supplement you currently take.
- An Adegen physician reviews your file and, if appropriate, issues your prescription.
The whole process is built into checkout and intake. There's nothing to request, fax, or transfer.
If You're Already on Hair Loss Treatment From Another Provider
Tell us during intake. If you're currently taking finasteride, minoxidil, or any other treatment prescribed elsewhere, your Adegen physician needs to know so your protocol is safe and coordinated. Don't stop or change any existing medication without talking to the prescribing doctor or your Adegen physician first.
