How long does prescription approval take?Updated 16 hours ago

Quick answer

Most prescriptions are approved within 24 hours of you completing the medical questionnaire. If the physician needs more information, the review pauses until you respond, so the fastest way to keep your timeline on track is to complete the questionnaire thoroughly and check your email for any physician follow-ups.

The Typical Timeline

  1. Checkout and complete the medical questionnaire: Day 0
  2. Physician review: typically within 24 hours
  3. Prescription being prepared at the pharmacy: 1–2 business days after approval
  4. Shipping: 5–7 business days after your order ships

Most customers go from checkout to a delivered kit in 7–10 days.

What Can Slow It Down

A few specific situations:

  • Incomplete medical questionnaire: the physician can't review without your full intake. Take the extra five minutes to fill it out completely.
  • Missing ID, photos, or a state-required video: the physician can't complete the review until identity verification and every intake upload are in. If you get reminder emails for something you already submitted, contact support rather than re-uploading repeatedly.
  • The physician needs more information: sometimes a medication you listed, a condition you mentioned, or a question about your goals requires a follow-up. The review pauses until you respond.
  • Complex medical history: customers with cardiovascular history, certain medications, or specific conditions may need a longer review.
  • Weekends and holidays: most reviews happen on business days. A Saturday checkout may not be reviewed until Monday.

How to Check Your Status

Log in to your Adegen account. You'll see your current subscription status, any pending physician messages, and your order timeline. Physician follow-ups also come via email, so check your inbox (and your spam folder) regularly during the review window.

What if It's Been More Than 48 Hours?

If you haven't heard anything within 48 hours of completing your medical questionnaire:

  1. Check your email (including spam) for a physician follow-up
  2. Log in to your Adegen account and check for messages
  3. Message support and we'll look up your file and let you know exactly where you are in the review

We don't want you sitting in limbo. If something's stuck on our end, we'll find it and move it.

What if the Physician Declines My Protocol?

It happens. The physician's job is to recommend what's safe and appropriate for you specifically, not what HairIQ™ initially routed you to. If a treatment is declined, you'll get a message explaining what was recommended instead. See our guide on what to do if you were denied a prescription for the full conversation.

Can I Request a Faster Review?

Not for clinical reasons: the physician's review takes the time it takes. But you can keep things moving by responding promptly to any messages from your provider.
