Will Adegen interact with my other medications or supplements?Updated a day ago
Quick answer
Your Adegen telehealth physician reviews your full medication and supplement list as part of your intake. That's the right place to raise any interaction concerns. Be thorough on the medical questionnaire, and always loop your provider in before starting any new medication or supplement. We can't give individual medical advice through support, but we can connect you to your provider for anything specific.
Where interactions get checked
The medical questionnaire you complete after checkout asks for your current medications, supplements, allergies, and relevant medical history. Your Adegen provider reviews all of it before approving a protocol, and may adjust or decline a treatment if something isn't a safe fit. The more complete your list, the better that review is, so include prescriptions, over-the-counter medications, and supplements.
Questions we hear often
These come up a lot. They're examples of why the provider review matters, not a substitute for it:
- Minoxidil and blood pressure medications, worth flagging since minoxidil can affect blood pressure
- Finasteride or dutasteride and testosterone replacement therapy (TRT)
- Tadalafil and nitrates: this combination is contraindicated and must be disclosed
- Any heart, liver, or blood-pressure condition, or medications for them
If any of these apply to you, make sure they're on your questionnaire and raise them with your provider directly.
Starting something new later
If you start a new medication or supplement after you're already on an Adegen protocol, tell your Adegen provider through your account portal. A new prescription elsewhere can change what's appropriate for you, and your provider can advise on whether anything needs to adjust.
What support can and can't do
Our support team can't assess drug interactions or give medical advice. That's your provider's role. What we can do is route your question to your Adegen provider quickly and make sure it gets a clinical answer.
When to escalate
Any question that needs clinical judgment, whether interactions, dose concerns, or a condition you're unsure about, goes to your Adegen provider. Message your provider through the portal, or message support and we'll connect you.
Next steps
- List every medication and supplement on your medical questionnaire.
- Raise specific interaction questions with your Adegen provider.
- Tell your provider about anything new you start while on a protocol.
