Why am I being asked to record a video?Updated 3 hours ago
Quick answer
Because your state's telehealth law requires it. Some states require an audio and video interaction between the patient and the physician as part of a telehealth visit. In those states, a short recorded intro video from you is what satisfies the requirement, and it is what lets your doctor complete your approval without you booking a live appointment. It takes about a minute, and it goes only to your physician through the secure patient platform.
Why this step exists
Telehealth is regulated state by state. Some states require that the doctor and patient interact by audio and video before a prescription can be issued. If your intake asks you to record a video, that is your state's requirement at work, not an extra Adegen policy. Customers in other states may not see this step at all.
What to expect
- It takes about a minute.
- There is nothing to prepare or rehearse. A simple introduction is all the requirement needs.
- Film it like a selfie video: decent light, face visible, normal voice.
- Once it uploads, your physician review continues as normal, usually completing within 24 hours.
In some states, the doctor may reach out directly
A few states require the interaction to happen live. In those cases, your physician decides the right format and will initiate a brief video or phone call with you. If you get a call or a scheduling message from your Adegen physician, it is legitimate, and responding promptly keeps your approval on track.
Where the video goes
Straight to your physician through the secure patient platform, into your medical record with your care team. It is never used for anything else, and our support team cannot see it.
