Can women use Adegen products?Updated 3 hours ago

Quick answer

Yes. Adegen treats women, and HairIQ™ is built to recommend what's safe for your specific situation. What matters most is where you are with pregnancy, because some hair loss medications carry real risk during pregnancy or for women who could become pregnant. ARB™ Shampoo+ and the Scalp Exfoliation Brush are safe for every woman, and our physicians decide what else is appropriate based on your full clinical picture.

What Your Situation Means for Treatment

Three situations shape the recommendation, and the assessment asks about yours up front.

  • You're pregnant, trying to conceive, or unsure. We recommend ARB™ Shampoo+ and the Scalp Exfoliation Brush only. They give you real scalp care now, and a fuller routine is there when the time is right. See our guide on using Adegen products during pregnancy.
  • You're not pregnant, but you could become pregnant. ARB™ Shampoo+ and the brush are always available. Our topicals without a DHT blocker (A5, A15) are typically available, and Oral Minoxidil 2.5mg may be, depending on physician review. We generally don't prescribe DHT blockers like finasteride or dutasteride, in any form, because of birth-defect risk if a pregnancy happens.
  • You can't become pregnant. The full range is open to physician review: ARB™ Shampoo+ and the brush, our topicals, Oral Minoxidil 2.5mg, and DHT blockers considered case by case.

Tadalafil is not part of any protocol we prescribe for women.

What Works Well for Women

The underlying cause of thinning is the same for women as it is for men, a blood flow restriction at the hair follicle, so the same follicle-health approach applies. Many women respond well, and we've worked with women from their 20s through their 80s. Results always depend on the individual, so we focus on what's safe and appropriate for you rather than promising a specific outcome.

ARB™ Shampoo+ paired with the Exfoliation Brush is safe in every situation and produces real scalp-health benefits on its own. When medication is appropriate, our topicals without DHT blockers (A5 and A15) are the common starting point, often alongside Oral Minoxidil.

Why We Take This Seriously

Female pattern hair loss is real, common, and treatable, but the industry underserves it. A lot of products either ignore women entirely or apply male-pattern logic to women. We err on the side of safety and prescribe within what's genuinely appropriate for your situation.

How to Start

Take the HairIQ™ assessment. It asks about your situation first, then tailors the recommendation from there. If you have a complex medical history, or you'd like to talk through your options before you start, message us and we'll connect you with the right team.
