How do I use the Microderm Scalp Roller?Updated 17 hours ago
Quick answer
The Microderm Scalp Roller is used a few sessions per week: roll gently over thinning areas of a clean, dry scalp for 1–2 minutes before applying your ARB™ Topical. It creates microscopic channels that increase blood flow and dramatically improve how well your topical penetrates. It's Step 2 of the Adegen 3-step protocol and is included free in every Complete Regrowth Kit ($59 retail value).
What It Does
The Microderm Scalp Roller does two things, one mechanical, one biological:
- Creates microscopic channels through the top layer of the scalp: these channels let your ARB™ Topical penetrate deeper and more uniformly than it could on its own
- Triggers the body's natural regenerative response: controlled micro-stimulation increases local blood flow, signals collagen production, and energizes dormant follicles
Without the roller, even the best topical sits more on the surface of the scalp. With the roller, the topical is delivered into the dermal layer where the follicle actually lives.
Why the Quality of the Roller Matters
This is one place where a cheap tool can actively work against you. Many inexpensive rollers use stamped-metal needles shaped like little triangles. Instead of making a clean, perpendicular puncture, they tear and cut through the skin as they roll. Over time that kind of damage can create scar tissue and fibrosis, which restricts blood supply to the area, the opposite of what you're trying to do.
The Microderm Scalp Roller uses individually placed, precise needles engineered to enter the scalp at a clean 90-degree angle: a proper micro-channel, not a tear. That's why we don't recommend substituting a generic derma roller: the wrong one can make the problem worse rather than better.
Step-by-Step
Use the roller before applying your topical, not after.
- Start with a clean, dry scalp. Shower or rinse first; let your scalp dry completely.
- Section your hair so you have direct access to the thinning areas.
- Hold the roller flat against the scalp and roll gently in one direction (e.g., left to right) for several passes.
- Lift the roller, change direction (e.g., top to bottom), and roll again for several passes.
- Repeat in a third diagonal direction.
- Total time: 1–2 minutes per session. Coverage should feel even, not heavy on one spot.
- Immediately follow with your ARB™ Topical: the channels close within a few minutes, so apply right away.
The pressure should be firm enough to feel, but never painful. You may see slight pinkness on the scalp afterward: that's normal and fades quickly.
How Often
A few sessions per week, typically 2 to 3, with at least one day of rest in between. More is not better. Your scalp needs a day to recover and respond between sessions.
A typical weekly rhythm:
- Monday: Cleanse + Roller + Topical
- Wednesday: Cleanse + Roller + Topical
- Friday: Cleanse + Roller + Topical
- Other days: Topical only (no roller)
Care and Cleaning
- Rinse the roller with warm water after every use
- Sanitize weekly with isopropyl alcohol: spray, swirl, air dry
- Store in its protective case
- Replace every 2–3 months: needles dull over time, and a dull roller works against you
